ARCH: 2021 Connie Caldwell Architecture Summer Internship Award

The School of Architecture is pleased to announce the second annual Connie Caldwell Summer Internship Award!

A generous gift by the deGraffenried Foundation, spearheaded by four Syracuse University alumni, established the Connie Caldwell Summer Internship Award in honor of Syracuse Architecture’s former director of Career Services. The fund will assist with expenses associated with an internship for one full-time architecture student each summer.

The award of up to $7,500, may be used to pay for internship-related travel, living expenses, and required materials, but may not, in most cases, be used to pay for tuition.

Applicants are responsible for obtaining their own internship (Career Services is here to help!) and should be in the interview process prior to applying for this award. You DO NOT need to have a final offer before applying, however, applicants must get confirmation of the internship offer before any money is disbursed. Applicants must be in good academic standing and have demonstrated financial need in order to be considered.

Applications for the Connie Caldwell Summer Internship Award will be accepted via Handshake through Friday, April 23, 2021. Award winner will be notified in mid-May.

Please apply directly via Handshake. In addition to your resume, we must receive the following documents:
  • Completion of attached 'Applicant Application'
  • Completion of attached 'Applicant (anticipated) Budget Form'

Failure to submit all requested documentation will result in your application to not be considered.

Note: No monies will be dispersed until final employer confirmation of the internship position has been received by the SU School of Architecture. Additionally, living and travel stipend applications will be reviewed by the Office of Financial Aid and will be qualified based on need.
