Richardson Family Scholarship for Military Family Members and Dependents Application
Overview.
The Office of Veteran and Military Affairs (OVMA) is now accepting applications for the Richardson Family Scholarship for Military Family Members and Dependents. The Richardson Family Scholarship for Military Family Members and Dependents will provide scholarship and financial assistance to currently enrolled undergraduate students who are U.S. military family members or dependents, enabling them to pursue their educational goals and reach their fullest potential. This scholarship was made possible by a gift from F. Glenn Richardson G '89 and family. The application is open to all currently enrolled Syracuse University Undergraduate military family members or dependents. The amount of the scholarship is $2,500.
Instructions.
Please read all the application instructions CAREFULLY!
1. Deadline. Sunday, (11:59 p.m.) EST, February 19th, 2023. NO applications will be accepted after the deadline.
2. How to apply. The application packet includes a cover letter, resume and essay questions. Your scholarship application will be considered based on the quality and content of your essay question responses. If you do not provide responses to all questions on this application or fail to complete the application process as instructed, your application will be incomplete, and you will not be considered for the scholarship.
3. Essay questions. Please answer each essay question in 200-300 words and attach it to the scholarship application as a separate document.
a. How would you describe your service to others and your community? How has your family members military service shaped your actions or inspired you?
b. Please describe your academic and career goals. How will your academic and/or career aspirations benefit others in your community.
c. Why should you be chosen to receive the Richardson Family Scholarship for Military Family Members and Dependents?

The Richardson Family Scholarship for Military Family Members and Dependents is built on the premise of provide scholarship and financial assistance to undergraduate students who are military family members and dependents, enabling them to pursue their educational goals and reach their fullest potential. Please describe how receiving this scholarship will help you achieve success.
4. Please note: if you are selected to receive the Richardson Family Scholarship for Military Family Members and Dependents, you will be required to provide information for a donor recipient report prior to being awarded funds. OVMA will provide guidelines to the scholarship recipient upon selection notification.
