Communications Intern

Located in Westfield, New Jersey, Omnia Paratus is the U.S. branch of a global communications consultancy. Our clients operate at the intersection of risk, finance, and technology. They come to us for help raising visibility, positioning executives as thought leaders, and maintaining credibility in a crisis. We specialize in strategic corporate communications, media relations, thought leadership, and social media for financial and professional services firms. We're currently seeking a summer communications intern to help support our small but mighty U.S. team. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Write content, including press releases, media pitches, thought leadership articles and blogs, and social media (LinkedIn) copy
  • Conduct research to support thought leadership and PR planning
  • Assist with media relations, including building and maintaining targeted media lists
  • Compile media briefing documents for thought leadership opportunities and interviews
  • Participate in internal team meetings and the occasional client meeting
  • Minor account management and social media graphic design as needed
  • Assist with client-related diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives as needed

Education and Experience: 

  • Undergraduate sophomore, junior, senior, or recent graduate who is pursuing or has completed a degree in journalism, communications, English, or a related field
  • Available to work part-time from May to August (est.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of initiative and motivation
  • Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision or oversight
  • Familiarity with financial and professional services is a plus but not required

This is a paid, hybrid internship. We are looking for someone who can work two to three business days per week, with at least one of those days in the office. We can also work with the intern so they can receive class credit through their respective university.
