Communications Summer Intern

We are looking for a full-time intern to join our team this summer!

 

CMAND is a PR and Strategic Communications consultancy that works with high-growth startups; venture capital firms; private equity firms; and business leaders tackling some of the world’s biggest challenges through innovative tech. 

 

We run the full stack of earned communications — announcements, media relations, speaking, awards, thought leadership, content marketing, op-eds, and podcasts. We partner with early-stage and growth-stage businesses to announce major milestones and help them secure related coverage, prepare media training for executives, manage organic social media, and develop supporting content (like blogs). We also offer clients performance marketing services, like paid Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and social media ad placement. And you’ll contribute to all of it, from research and writing to media pitching and more. 

 

What you bring:

  • Strong communication skills, creativity, and attention to detail
  • A knack for writing compelling content and an ability to adapt your writing to different brand voices
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and distill complex ideas
  • An understanding of the art of the pitch (or the desire to learn it quickly)
  • Research skills (to find those best-fit reporters, conferences, and podcasts)
  • An appreciation for startup culture and innovative ideas
  • Adeptness at working in a fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative attitude and open mind
  • The spirit of a generalist — in other words, an ability to adapt to new and varied responsibilities
  • The drive to own a project and a feeling that you’ll thrive in a small team making big moves

 

Optional skills and experiences, but indicate if you have ‘em!:

  • Writing press releases
  • Media/reporter relations
  • Copywriting, social media management, and/or design skills
  • Working on/with tech startup teams
