Environmental Design Intern

As we gear up for an exciting summer season, we are looking for a passionate and talented Environmental Design Intern to join us in bringing our events to life. The Drury summer internship program is a treasured tradition, where we allow our interns to learn firsthand and sharpen their skills in the event marketing space. 


 

Position: Environmental Design Intern 

Location: New York City [Chelsea]/Hybrid

4-day work week. 

Tuesdays/Thursdays in the office while Mondays/Wednesdays are remote. 

Duration: June 1st to August 15th 

Pay: $25 an hour 


 

Qualifications: 

  • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a design, architecture, theatre, visual communication, or related program. 
  • Proficient in: 
    • 3D Modeling Tools (SketchUp, 3DS Max, Blender, Rhino, and/or Cinema 4D)
    • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) 
    • Workflow Tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft Outlook, Keynote, Slack, and Zoom) 
  • Additional experience in animation, video, photography, or other software like: 
    • Adobe AfterEffects, Premier, Lightroom
    • Figma 
  • Strong portfolio showcasing design skills, creativity, and process as well as understanding of design principles. 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment. 
  • A passion for events, marketing, and staying aware of current design trends. No events experience necessary - you’ll learn on the job. 
  • Ready to adapt designs based on client feedback and project requirements. Flexibility and a proactive approach to challenges are key.
  • Ability to work in the office and remotely.


 

Responsibilities:

  • Design Projects: Work closely with the design team to conceptualize and develop environmental designs for event marketing campaigns, including but not limited to keynote presentations, immersive experiences, staging, signage.
  • Brand Physicalization: Ensure brand consistency across all design projects, adhering to established client guidelines and contributing to the evolution of the event or campaign’s visual identity in three dimensional space.
  • Creative Ideation: Bring fresh and innovative ideas, contributing to brainstorming sessions and creative strategy meetings.
