Film Screener Internship

This is a 4-month part-time remote role with NO set start date. We allow interns to start when it is convenient for them. Any dates on this ad are merely a representation of the period you will be working.

The Screener Role

This is a 4-month part-time and remote unpaid Screener Internship placement within Flix Premiere’s Film Acquisition Department. Depending on your university regulations and the internship’s relevance to your course, there might be an opportunity to receive college credit for this internship.

The role will entail:

  • Screening award-winning festival films;
  • Detailed film analysis, focusing on both the formal (cinematography, sound design, direction, mise-en-scène, etc.) and the narrative elements of a film;
  • In-depth examination of the movie’s suitability for the platform, taking into account various target markets and different audience profiles;
  • Making informed acquisition recommendations which directly impact our accreditation process and consequently our film catalogue.

Qualifications:

  • Passionate about independent film;
  • Able to make decisions regarding the quality and marketability of a given film;
  • Curious about the film industry in general, and the film exhibition and distribution areas in particular;
  • Strong reasoning and analytical skills;
  • Self-motivated and independent;
  • Preferably coming from a Film or Film Studies background;
  • Possessing great time management skills;
  • Able to commit a maximum of 9 hours/week.
