Do you like digging in to find answers to hard questions? Do you enjoy captivating friends with a well-told story? Why this internship stands out: Editorial interns participate in a robust curriculum of workshops centered on developing journalism skills. Those skills are deployed in real-time, essential newsroom duties. Past interns have contributed to award-winning coverage and gone on to have active careers as journalists both in the United States and internationally.
Duties include: Posting wire stories every morning, assisting with the audio production of our Daily podcast in the afternoons, and creating content for our Weekly print magazine. There will be limited time to pitch, report, and write your own news and feature stories.
What we look for in applicants: Journalistic experience in the classroom, prior internship, or campus newspaper, is given priority when considering applications. Top priority is given to candidates who demonstrate an understanding of Monitor journalism.

Work Schedule: Paid interns will work Monday through Friday, between 35 to 40 hours a week. The position is based in Boston, Mass. The Boston newsroom has returned to a hybrid work schedule. In-person work is expected for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
