Office and Production Intern
Internship Overview:
Are you passionate about filmmaking? Do you want hands-on experience producing character-driven videos for global nonprofits and fortune 100 companies? Well, you came to the right place! People’s Television, a boutique full-service film production company based in NY and DC, is looking for a part-time production intern to join our team for the season, with the potential to grow into a permanent role. You will work closely with senior producers, creatives and editors to help produce a wide range of video content including short documentaries, commercials and brand anthems, and will assist with all stages of production from creative development to post-production. This internship will provide valuable experience for anyone interested in pursuing a post-graduation career in film production.
Responsibilities may include:
- Development:
- Researching potential new clients and pitching to our sales team
- Sourcing relevant creative references, work samples and stills to include in creative proposals
- Supporting creative proposal development
- Pre-production:
- Researching reputable creatives (directors, DP’s, producers, etc.)
- Building out and maintaining production contacts in Airtable
- Research production crew members
- Location scouting
- Researching rental houses and placing production gear rental orders
- Ordering couriers
- Production
- Building out call sheets
- Assisting on-set as a production assistant (COVID-safe video shoots only)
- Distributing, tracking and organizing appearance releases
- Post-Production
- Assisting in managing and organizing photo and video assets
- Working with Editors and the Post-Production Coordinator on a wide-range of projects
- Importing, organizing, and stringing out footage in Adobe Premiere
- Helping maintain our video archive
Ideal candidate:
- Is enrolled in university
- Is detailed-oriented and able to meet deadlines
- Is a creative thinker, with an ability to take initiative and multi-task
- Is an excellent communicator
- Has solid writing skills
- Is passionate about visual storytelling and film production
- Is friendly, eager to learn and enjoys working with a team!
- Lives in the DMC Area
We will provide class credit through your college or university upon approval from your academic advisor and department head. We are looking for candidates with availability 2-3 days per week.
