2025 Paid Summer Internship - Digital Content Intern

Over the summer, Firecracker Sports hosts amateur baseball and softball tournaments in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.  Our mission is to provide a multitude of opportunities and avenues for youth players to develop, grow and reach their goals.

The Digital Content Intern will aid in increasing brand awareness through digital video and photo productions, to better highlight the Firecracker Sports Company.  Individuals should have an interest in sports video production or social media and a general understanding of the games of baseball and/or softball.  

Interns will gain valuable experience in working with Mirrorless/DSLR Camera(s) and camcorders, learning audio and lighting techniques, using Adobe Creative Suite programs; Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, etc. and share their own creations with us of original content for our brand.  Interns will also be taught on how to grow social media platforms. Our social media platforms already have over 30,000 followers!

Submission of a cover letter and a resume to Firecracker Sports is required.

Requirements Include:

  • A field of study in video production and/or a general social media experience is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Staying overnight in hotel accommodations for all travel events.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from events and fields
  • Self starter and ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Good communication skills, a friendly professional disposition and an ability to motivate others.

2025 Tournament Schedule 

 (*Please note:)  

  1. Some tournaments have coinciding schedules.  Interns agree and are assigned to each tournament prior to being hired.  Interns will be required to work a minimum of at least 8 tournaments and a maximum of 11 tournaments on the dates outlined below.
  2. All interns are required to attend training the day before the start of the Memorial Day Patriotic Bash in Providence, RI on May 22, 2025.  Hotel accommodations are provided as well for training if needed.
  3. All New England and New York interns will be required to attend the Father’s Day Classic in either Providence, RI or Mystic, CT.
  4. All New England and New York interns are required to attend the 4th of July Showcase Classic in Providence, RI and Southeast, MA
  5. All interns are required to attend at least one Player Showcase attached to one of our tournaments.
  6. Fire 55 Showcase is considered a tournament for pay purposes if assigned.
  7. Arriving late, leaving early and/or missing an agreed upon day to work will result in a $150 deduction from your compensatory credit.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist Digital Content Producer in covering Firecracker Sports events; Tournaments, Showcases, Team Scout Days, Testing Days, Social Events etc.
  • Provide photography services; Action, headshot, team shots when needed
  • Introduce new video products such as Personal Testimonies, staff interviews outside partnership highlights, Inside Firecracker Sports, etc.  
  • Work closely with the Marketing Director and digital Content Producer to capture content that aligns with and highlights the broader Firecracker Sports marketing strategies/philosophies
  • Edit small projects for Firecracker Sports Social platforms; YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, etc.

Pay, Benefits, Training and Future Contract/Employment Considerations:

  • Compensation: 11 Tournaments $3000, 10 Tournaments $2500, 9 Tournaments $2000, 8 Tournaments $1500 (50% paid on July 2nd and 50% + bonus/mileage/meal reimbursement  paid on August 11th)
  • Bonus/Mileage/Meal Reimbursement ($1500 for 11 Tournaments, $1500 for 10 Tournaments, $1000 for 9 Tournaments, $500 for 8 Tournaments (*Paid on August 11th and only if all agreed upon tournaments and player camps are attended for the duration of these events)
  • Fully paid/free hotel accommodations.
  • Full college credit for the semester with your college or university.
  • Onboarding, Training, Mentoring..
  • Practical and on the job training and mentoring.
  • Interns are routinely hired as paid contractors and staff for future events after successfully demonstrating the skills necessary to perform their related duties.
